The amount of time I spend online has increased almost exponentially over the last few years.
I’ve always had an eclectic taste in music, literature, and art, as well as science and technology, math and human behavior. I contend that there is no such thing as a useless fact and that acquiring knowledge for knowledge’s sake is a noble endeavour.
All that being said, I sometimes feel that I spend an inordinate amount of time surfing the internet. I flick from site to site, looking for nuggets of funny, interesting, enriching, or impactful information and sometimes feel as if I’m on the couch, going through all the channels, thinking, ‘Nah. Seen it already. Boring. Rerun. Nope. Commercial. Commercial. Commercial. This guy again? Commercial. Commercial. Commercial.’
Which brings me to the point of this post.
One of the things I’d like to see Edd’s Tavern become is a repository for educational, insightful, and entertaining information. I feel like we’re well on our way with a small but growing vanguard of some of the most intelligent, articulate, and creative individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting…and Nef Yoo Blackbeard.
